Super Bowl Sports Night: Live From Smooth's In Downtown LB!
February 04, 2008 01:57 AM PST
What... a... game. Oh, you didn't think that the Sports Night crew was just going to have a normal Super Bowl party, did you? The LBPOST.com and Sports Night co-hosted a Super Sunday party at Smooth's Bar and Grille down on Pine and recorded a live, hour-long special Super Bowl edition available here! The place was packed and jumping with Giants fans (or Patriots haters). It was truly a family affair, with Mike's (prophetic) mom, J.J.'s dad and Ryan's dad all in attendance and joining us on the podcast. We also stepped aside for a ladies' segment hosted by Mike's wife Shar, J.J.'s girlfriend Tracy and Ryan's girlfriend Nikol, who offered some suggestions on how we should fill our Sundays now that the NFL season is over. Plenty of predictions, updates and game reactions, plus some very special interviews with former Dirtbag and current Devil Ray third baseman Evan Longoria, Smooth's owner John Morris on local sports legends and his thoughts on the NFL in Long Beach, and a quick word and announcement from LBPOST.com creator and publisher Robert Garcia. In Mike's words, "We hope your Super Bowl was half as fun as ours... but it wasn't." Peace! |
Podcast SummaryWe're a bunch of guys that won't shut up about sports. The program began at Long Beach State's weekly newspaper and lives on even after graduation. We employ resident experts (and sometimes just our buddies) to answer the big questions: Is that QB helmet sticker green or yellow? Do sports commentators have better memories than goldfish? And is there anything on Earth better than Long Beach sports? (Green, no, and no) About SportsNightThe famous Sports Night podcast makes its triumphant return to the airwaves with its partnership with LBPOST.com. J.J. Fiddler, Mike Guardabascio and Ryan ZumMallen began the program as writers with Cal State Long Beach's Union Weekly newspaper. But as the hosts graduated from college, so too did the program - from the office of a student newspaper to the primetime. Fans of this ShowFavorite LinksSportsnight's Friends
